Just after 6 pm Fauquier ECC alerted Goldvein for an outside fire on Midland Road caused by a hay bailer that was rapidly spreading. The Tanker, Attack, and Chief added to the run with 7 volunteers. While en route a large column of smoke was visible which lead to the addition of another brush truck. Attack 8 arrived on scene to find approx. 4 acres of field on fire along with 6 round bales and a hay bailer. The wagon from Goldvein along with a brush truck from Catlett also responded to the call. Units operated for about 2 hours containing and extinguishing the fire.
